Job description
Provide extra assistance to students who have been identified as needing additional academic assistance, including those that are non-English-speaking students or those with physical and mental disabilities.
Tutor and assist children individually or in small groups to help them master assignments and to reinforce learning concepts presented by teachers.
Supervise students in classrooms, halls, cafeterias, schoolyards, and gymnasiums, or on field trips.
Enforce administration policies and rules governing students.
Observe students' performance, and record relevant data to assess progress.
Discuss assigned duties with classroom teachers to coordinate instructional efforts.
Present subject matter to students under the direction and guidance of teachers, using lectures, discussions, or supervised role-playing methods.
Follow established safety practices; support District/campus goals and follow District policies and procedures.
Maintain a professional code of ethics and perform other appropriate duties as assigned.
- Must be a college student or have already obtained a Bachelor’s Degree.
- Possess a strong Math and English background.
- Two years working or volunteering in community based organizations.
- Previous experience in educational activities with young students, including tutoring.
- Dedicated to the vision of the organization, able to work cooperatively with supervisors, colleagues, parents, and students.
