POSITION SUMMARY
The Tutor reports to the Youth Program Coordinator and schedules and provides students with academic assistance to meet their educational goals.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist elementary, middle and/or high school students in academic achievement by providing homework tutoring in order to supplement subject matter understanding and study habits.
- Offer hands on educational concept activities as appropriate to convey specific educational principles.
- Provide diversified, guided activities that supplement learning goals for students as needed.
- Work together with other staff to lead small group discussions and workshops on selected topics germane to their educational goals.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education/Experience:
- Current college student required with a college graduate preferred.
- Experience in working or volunteering with youth a plus.
Skills/Knowledge:
- Fluency in spoken and written English required with a Mandarin/simplified Chinese preferred.
- Basic computer skills required, including Microsoft Office and online web search.
- Good communication skills with youth and parents required.
- Basic end-user level understanding and experience with Salesforce is a plus.
Physical Demands:
- Mainly work in classroom involving prolonged periods of sitting, walking and standing.
Environment and Scheduling:
- Work is performed during Agency business hours.
- Must be flexible and available to work alternate hours when necessary.
- Work is performed mainly indoors but occasionally out for field trips or meetings.
