At Beltsville Veterinary Hospital , we are looking for the right candidate to join our Vet Tech team. Experience is a plus, but are willing to train the right individual with the passion and dedication to learning the Veterinary field. Our Veterinary Technicians play an essential role in providing an exceptional experience for our patients, by being the point person patient care, and doctor assistance!
Job Responsibilities
- Triaging patients and acquiring patient history and other information from clients.
- Assisting with diagnostic procedures.
- Discussing treatment plans and estimates, and payment options with clients.
- Acquiring cephalic, saphenous, and jugular blood samples.
- Processing specimens in the in-house laboratory and submitting specimens to outside laboratories.
- Entering patients' service charges into the computer database and keeping accurate patient records.
- Explaining patient instructions to clients and sharing educational materials.
- High School education or GED (minimal)
- 2+ years of work experience as a veterinary technician (preferred)
- Proficient computer skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong affinity for animals.
- Outstanding people skills.
- Ability to multitask in a dynamic environment.
- Team player.
