Havas Street | Vice President
The VP is part of the division leadership team and helps to oversee all activation accounts and team from a client servicing perspective. This position also supports the SVP on all new business deliverables.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategy
- Provides strategic insights for division growth, organizational structure and staffing
- Works with the SVP to manage and establish direction of the division (including fiscal planning and profitability)
- Regularly monitors client’s program goals; addresses challenges and successes in meeting goals, and re-evaluates as necessary
- Develops high-quality, strategic activation programs; spearheads concept ideation with creative team for clients and manages all accounts assigned
Creative
- Collaborates with Creative team to ideate surrounding incoming briefs/RFPs and new business opportunities
- Participates in regular brainstorming sessions and helps work in tandem with Creative team for deck development process and timing
- Co-presents creative led proposals with Creative team
Account Management
- Provides clients with ongoing strategic leadership and counsel
- Serves as the division’s lead client service representative
- Manages all client programs, timelines and planning calendars
- Identifies key priorities and deliverables for clients and manages expectations
- Conducts client strategy and planning meetings
- Supervises program evaluation
- Maintains regular and ongoing senior executive level client communication
- Supervises team management of major client initiatives including program launches, events, promotions, etc.
- Oversees all client reporting: daily reporting, weekly reporting, program end recaps and custom reports as requested
- Works with account team to ensure longstanding relationships with clients
- Liaises with Director on builds, operational strategies and permitting needs for client programs
- Works in unison with mid-level managers to help facilitate account service
- Travels to senior client meetings
Budget Management
- Works with SVP on all client budgets prior to finalizing
- Communicates with Operations and Accounting regarding invoicing schedules, projected revenue, regular monthly actual spend reports, etc.
- Reviews, edits and approves all budgets created by mid-level managers
- Conducts budget negotiations with clients and submits change order estimates as needed
- Acts as conduit and advisor between other division VPs when providing activation estimates
- Approves large scale division spending prior to staff members securing
Team Management | Mentoring
- Acts as a role model, leader and mentor; exhibits a high degree of professionalism
- Connects with each employee on a personal level, offers help and guidance in overcoming challenges, personal growth, etc.
- Distributes workload and delegates tasks to No. 2 levels and other team members as necessary
- Supervises division’s team in regard to client programming and ensures that team is delivering on all client deliverables
- Liaises with division leaders to align on staff performance and works to conduct disciplinary actions with SVP and Human Resources as needed
- Evaluates team members’ individual skills and areas for growth and improvement
- Conducts staff performance evaluations with SVP
- Supervises team’s tracking of trends and current events for clients
- Participates in division leadership oversight of the recruiting department and process
- Acts as co-approver of vacation, sick time and out of office requests from division staff
Writing | Editing
- Edits and approves significant written materials prior to client distribution
- Edits documents prior to distributing to senior level client contacts
- Provides directive to creative services team for renderings needed (outside of large builds)
- Writes strategy documents for executive level client contacts and/or new business prospective clients
New Business
- Builds division organically with current accounts
- Sources new business leads; nurtures relationships with partner agencies
- Serves as the “Face of Havas Street” alongside SVP and President
- Conducts introductory meetings with new business prospects (may include capabilities presentations)
- Helps to keep capabilities deck updated with latest programs and assets
- Leads proposal presentations
- Liaises with SVP and President on new prospects and strategies
Staffing
- Identifies potential new hires; conducts final interviews and makes hiring decisions
- Employs strategies to promote employee retention alongside division leadership
Agency Contributions
- Contributes positively to the agency culture, atmosphere and values and exudes a positive outlook on his/her team
- Establishes professional and respectful relationships with staff
Education: Bachelor’s Degree (in communications, liberal arts, business or marketing preferred)
Experience: Ten years plus of experiential marketing experience. Extensive experience managing a team.
Skills & Abilities Required: Ability to understand client brand category and landscape in order to deliver creative ideas that resonate with target audiences. Excellent presentation skills and comfortable speaking in front of groups. Staff- and client-respected leadership qualities demonstrating proven ability to lead by example. Possesses motivational capabilities in a highly pressurized environment. Is appropriate, approachable and fair, and creates valued relationships with staff. Strong analytical and problem solving skills with a comfort level handling “hot seat” situations. Can meet tight deadlines and has an exceptional eye for details.
Strong people management and leadership skills to include the ability to mentor staff and provide direction and objectives, performance counseling and skill building. Ability to manage up and down in the organization. Knowledge of when to rely on personal judgment and when to seek advice. Good delegation skills. Strong independence. Solid judgement, drive and influence. Entrepreneurial spirit, passion and intellectual curiosity. Must be collaborative and results driven.
Strong writing, editing, listening and verbal communications skills. Resourceful and solutions focused. Capable of multitasking, prioritizing and organizing. Self-motivated and able to work well in a collaborative environment as well as individually. Effectively manages time and follow up. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and use in development of databases.
