Duties & Responsibilities: (Essential Functions of Position, Major Responsibilities, Summary of Key Duties, Special Assignments, Relationships)
  • Responsible for the Music instruction for all students in grade K-6 assigned to your classes.
  • Provide an enjoyable and fun experience in Music while following the District's prescribed curriculum.
  • Promote the Music program to parents and the community.
  • Share and effectively work as a member of a team, planning lessons together, monitoring progress and making modifications that meet the specific needs of all students.
  • Support the content subject areas through the Music curriculum.
  • Collaborate with grade level teams to support cross-curricular learning opportunities for students.
  • Use both formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress and set academic goals for improvement and acceleration
  • Implement MTSS plans for any students needing Tier II or Tier III learning interventions
  • Establish and maintain high standards of pupil behavior to achieve a positive learning atmosphere in the classroom
  • Participate in District and building-wide staff development activities
  • Incorporate the Olweus Anti-bullying, Positive Behavior Supports (PBIS), and Second Step strategies into your classroom.
  • Communicate with and involve families as needed to support student achievement
  • Provide on-going instruction and practice for students in building-wide procedures
  • Assist with all other duties as assigned by the principal.
  • Successful candidate must possess strong inter-personal skills with a proven record of building rapport with culturally diverse students to ensure each child reaches his/her full potential.
  • Good attendance and punctuality are a must to ensure that the duties and responsibilities of the job are performed successfully.

  • Must be able to lift/push/pull 50 lbs.

  • Be willing to be an "active" participant in MTSS, PBIS, CRVP, and CTT staff development, collaboration, and implementation of strategies when appropriate
