Volunteer Coordinator - 20 hours
PURPOSE OF POSITION:
Responsible for timely and accurately completing hospice aide schedules as well as recruiting, screening, training, assigning and supervising Hospice Services of Massachusetts volunteers.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Hospice aide scheduling – Responsible for timely and accurately completing Hospice Aide schedule in accordance with patients Plan of Care and visit orders
2. Assuring all Aide schedules are sent to facilities and employees timely – any necessary changes are made to account for changes in patient needs & level of care
3. Coordinates Volunteer Program in accordance with Hospice Services of Massachusetts’s short and long term goals.
4. Directs an on-going recruiting effort to increase volunteer participation.
5. Screens potential volunteers
6. Plans and conducts training classes as necessary.
7. Assures that the program meets the standards set by regulatory or certification bodies regarding the participation of volunteers.
8. Assesses patients, families, and areas of the program for potential volunteer involvement through participation at interdisciplinary team meetings.
9. Assigns volunteers to appropriate activities.
10. Monitors reports from the volunteers and brings urgent items to the attention of the IDT as appropriate.
11. Maintains on-going communication with volunteers
12. Provides direction for the solving of problems involving volunteers
13. Submits timely reports to the Executive Director regarding volunteer activities and levels of participation.
14. Evaluates all volunteers at least annually.
15. Designs on-going continuing educations programs for volunteers.
16. Maintains volunteer personnel files.
17. Designs volunteer appreciation activities or programs.
18. Maintains records of volunteer activity to meet regulatory requirements.
19. Manage and maintain system for sending out bereavement cards to family members of patients.
20. Special Projects—Assists the Executive Director, and others as approved by the Executive Director, with special projects as needed.
21. Other duties as assigned.

Experience:
- Microsoft Word: 1 year (Preferred)
License/Certification:
