Summary

This position requires sound comprehensive knowledge of Prestige Cosmetics Store Design, Visual Merchandising and Project Management

The creation of innovative TR points of sale that give enhanced visibility with passenger focused environments that improve brand awareness, build brand equity and provide an experiental environment for the unique traveling global consumer . This environment is complex and has a multiplicity of lingustic and cultural variations. Design passenger focused communication and unique self select systems with improved in-store navigation to increase penetration and conversion, innovation and distortion is key.

Responsibilites:

  • To develop complete and innovative solutions for TR environments in airport locations and relevant downtown locations developing brand approved guidelines to create high touch consumer centric and engaging experiences across all brands
  • Help develop individual brands merchandising systems for displaying, testing, and experiencing the brands product in the travel retailing environment.
  • Individual design and planning of Airport Duty Free Environments, Downtown TR Environments and competitive spaces based on the recommendations of TR retailers and TR Senior Management
  • Works with Digital Consumer Marketing to develop and integrate digital savvy solutions into design proposals to enhance customer shopping experience
  • Review and approve all regional design submissions and make recommendations and modifications as required to ensure brand alignment and consistency at point of sale
  • Design and develop brand specific fixtures and merchandising systems tailored to individual brand values as agreed by TR marketing and TR senior management. Work closely with TR marketing and individual brands store design and visual merchandising departments to establish cohesive and functional design solutions
  • Work across all three regions to ensure global brand alignment and consistency at point of sale while understanding and applying locally relevant solutions
  • Regular and consistent communication with the regional store design teams and directors to ensure constantly maintaining up to the minute directives
  • To create, establish and regularly review a database of global suppliers to maintain and enhance a high standard of quality in all TR Store Design Environments
  • To drive the highest design standard by discovering developing and implementing new and innovative materials processes and finishes across all brands and environments
  • Maintain consistently high visual standards throughout all environments through training, workshops and regular visits to all regions
  • Review local market adaptations for TR specific design solutions with the brand to ensure alignment and implementation of latest design evolution. Enthuse, guide and train regional store design teams across all brands and encourage the development of solutions that are locally relevant
  • Works closely with ELC Procurement team to understand and fully utilize company best practices.
  • Work closely with outside vendors and design agencies as approved by Senior TR management.
  • Maintain awareness of trends, styles, materials and technology relative to the competition. Apply learnings relevant to TR Store Design and Visual Merchandising.
  • Work with the global and regional store design and visual merchandising teams to achieve ELC in-store sustainability goals.


This role has the resposibility for store design development and implemntation for the following brands –Summary for Fiscal ’19 action plan

Estee Lauder

  • To advise on all future store design solutions

Clinique

  • To continue to develop the store design concept across all regions in collaboration with the brand’s store design and visual merchandining team

Bobbi Brown

  • Work with the global brand creative group to develop new and exciting concepts across all regions

LaMer

  • To launch the new store design concept and further develop as necessary across all regions in conjunction with the brand’s store design and visual merchandising team

MAC

  • To drive a new store design concept and to furhter enhance existing formats within the TR environments

Tom Ford Beauty

  • To roll out new store design concept created by the brand and further develop with the regions

Origins

  • To develop the new Origins concept adapting to TR environments worldwide

Darphin

  • To develop the new Darphin concept adapting to TR environments worldwide

LeLabo

  • To work with the brand in NY and with their designated design agency to develop regionally relevant global solutions

Frederic Malle

  • To work with the brand in Paris to develop global TR solutions

Kilian

  • To work with the brand in Paris to develop global TR solutions

Lab Series/ADF

  • Work with the global brand creative group to develop new and exciting concepts across all regions

Aveda

  • Work with the global brand creative group to develop new and exciting concepts across all regions


Qualifications


This person must have the ability to lead multiple global projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment including the management of timelines and budgets, building a culture of accountability for him/ herself and the TR Creative teams in the three regions and NY

  • 20 + years related experience
  • Bachelors degree preferred in Architecture
  • Drafting and structural techniques, engineering, Drawing, CAD/ graphics, and reading of comprehensive shop drawings
  • A strong knowledge of Architectural and Retail industry and regulatory standards
  • Travel required (about 6-8 international trips per year)
