Job Summary:

The Division of Facilities Planning & Management (FP&M) is a full-spectrum service organization that builds, maintains, and operates the physical environment of the UW-Madison campus in support of the university's education, research, and outreach activities. FP&M works behind the scenes to coordinate campus planning, manage design and construction, maintain and operate buildings and grounds, supply utility services, ensure health and safety, and provide parking and transportation services.

Under the general direction of the Materials Management Supervisor, this position leads the warehousing team supporting material requirements for the Physical Plant. This is a working supervisory position that will perform the duties of team members. This position is responsible for developing an accurate, efficient, and effective controlled inventory in `shop store' locations. The position works closely with Physical Plant Shops on inventory requirements. The purpose of the inventory is to support facilities maintenance activities (breakdown maintenance, preventive maintenance, renovation, major repair, and minor construction). The controlled inventory will be regularly audited for accuracy.



Responsibilities:
Monitors all cycle count programs and ensures consistency and accuracy in programs, and identifies all operational problems in inventory.
  • 20% Exercises supervisory authority, including hiring, transferring, suspending, promoting, managing conduct and performance, discharging, assigning, rewarding, disciplining, and/or approving hours worked of at least 2.0 full-time equivalent (FTE) employees
  • 5% Tracks inventory levels and places replenishment orders following established vendor procurement procedures
  • 5% Inspects and inventories received items and processes notifications to appropriate entities
  • 10% Shelves inventory and maintains organization
  • 15% Generates inventory reports to account for available stock and usage
  • 10% Maintains records of all variances according to establish procedures and ensure accuracy of all product transfers from one facility to another
  • 15% Monitors all procurement requests of facilities and ensures accuracy in all inbound inventory
  • 5% Performs other duties in support of Maintenance Department
  • 15% Provides product information, guidance, and customer service to trades workers and supervisors

Education:

Qualifications:

2 years or more experience in logistics, inventory control, material management in a leadership role preferred



Work Schedule:

Monday to Friday 7:00am to 3:30pm
Occasional nights, weekends, and holidays

It is anticipated this position requires work be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location.

Salary:

Minimum $28.85 HOURLY
Depending on Qualifications
The starting salary for the position is $60,000 annually but is negotiable based on experience and qualifications.
