PHOENIX LITHOGRAPHING CORPORATION, a commercial printing and direct mail company, is seeking highly qualified heatset web press operators at its northeast Philadelphia facilities. This is an excellent opportunity to join a long-established and growing company doing high quality work on state of the art equipment.

Experienced Heatset Web First Pressmen can earn $34/hour and more depending on experience level.

These are full-time positions available on both day and night shifts. Three 12-hour shifts or five 8-hour shifts options are available.

Job is located in northeast Philadelphia, PA, with easy access from the PA Turnpike and I-95.

Will pay reasonable relocation expenses for the right candidate.

WEB PRESS OPERATOR – Full-Time

REQUIRED SKILLS

• Operate web printing press to print quality production, maintain quality of product, lead and direct press crew, maintain press, and work on other operation duties as directed by the supervisors.
• Set up, adjust, operate, and maintain multi-color web offset presses (heatset and coldset web).

• Review job specifications to determine the press setup according to the imposition of the run.

• Ensure that all make-ready tasks are done which are associated with the press such as hanging plates, examining plates/cylinders for imperfections and checking for correct positioning of images, prepping blankets, adjusting tension and register etc.

• Make necessary color corrections and/or press adjustments prior to production run to meet and maintain the quality specifications of the work.

• Ensure that the press is clean, lubricated, and maintained, making minor repairs and replacing worn or broken parts as required. Perform periodic maintenance as recommended by the manufacturer. Notify supervisor and the maintenance department of issues with the equipment.

• Maintain a safe and injury free work environment.

• Responsible for all aspects of the operation of the press.

• Responsible for overall quality of the printed product including color reproduction, product specifications, imaging quality and postal specifications.

• Provide accurate documentation of time, materials, impressions, waste, and run speeds.

• Communicate information effectively with managers and with other crews and departments, scheduling, prepress, maintenance.

• Must be able to work full time shift, with some overtime as needed.

EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE:

• 10 years web press printing experience.
• Requires comprehensive knowledge of equipment and safety requirements to set-up, adjust, operate, and maintain equipment.

• Experience on the Goss Sunday press, Baker Perkins G-14, Heidelberg V-30, or Muller Martini Concepta roll to roll press a plus.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Continuous standing/walking - 8 hours or more.
• Occasional bending, kneeling, climbing, reaching.

• Occasional lifting and pushing/pulling - 50 lbs. or less.

• Occasional repetitive motion with both hands.

• Cannot be colorblind.

Top compensation rate for top talent. Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
