Qualification Requirements: • Must pass and maintain weld certification test • Basic reading and writing knowledge required • Must be able to read blueprints, processes and work schedules • Be able to use precision measuring instruments, testing devices and equipment to check parts etc. • Able to read various; micrometer (OD & ID), caliper, refractometer and profilometer • Ability to maintain operation of multiple machines at one time if necessary • Basic computer skills Education and/or Experience: Minimum requirement of HS Diploma or equivalent Formal job training or equivalent program of welding desired Experience with knowledge of welding terminology is preferred 1-2 years of applied machine shop experience
Language Skills: Must be able to respond to common inquiries of customers, regulatory agencies or other members of the business. The ability to effectively present information to senior management, department managers and employees is necessary. Mathematical Skills: Basic Shop Math – add, subtract, multiply, divide, decimal conversion, fraction conversion and metric conversion, thread and radius conversion, IPM and IPR calculation, and SFM conversion Physical Demands (the physical demands are representative of the position and must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions): • Frequent: standing, bending at the knees, pushing, pulling, lifting 1-25 lbs., climbing 6-8 inches (platform), and reaching at shoulder level. • Occasional: walking, stair climbing and lifting 25-50 lbs. (cranes are available). • The maximum amount of weight an employee is required to lift safety is 50 lbs. • Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distant vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
