Summary of Position
Under Weld Lead or Supervisor instructions, the Welder Helper preps and grinds steel, aluminum, and Invar 36 materials for welders. Additionally, the Welder Helper grinds/bevel welds on detail level.

Essential Functions

  • Prep plasma cut material for welding, including grinding and descaling
  • Grind weld prep for welders
  • Assist welders if and when required
  • Maintains work area, tools, and equipment in a neat, clean, and orderly manner
  • Segregates and periodically disposes of scrap material into approved collection containers
  • Operates a forklift and crane in accordance with safety standards

  • · This position must meet Export Control Compliance requirements, therefore a "US Person" as defined by 22.C.F.R. is required
Preferred Qualifications
  • · Experience in the aerospace industry
  • · Able to read blueprints
  • Firm understanding of fractions and the metric system

  • · While performing the duties of this job, employee may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes and airborne particles.
  • · The employee may be exposed to vibration.
  • · The employee is occasionally exposed to caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • · May be required to work weekends to meet department and business demands.
  • · Work with safe manufacturing processes and understanding that eyewear is mandatory in the manufacturing area.
  • · Knows that safety shoes are recommended in the manufacturing area.

  • Must be able to frequently walk & stand for short periods of time
  • Must be able to lift and move up to 35 pounds, occasionally lift and move objects up to 50lbs.
