Purpose
Assists in planning, organizing, and implementing exercises for residents in the Wellness Center.

Part Time A (30-34 hrs. per week) 15 Craigside location in Nu’uanu.
Monday 8am-3:30pm
Tuesday/Wednesday off
Thursday 8am-3:00pm
Friday 8am-3:30pm
Saturday 8am-12pm
Sunday 8am-12pm

Essential Functions
  • Conducts and creates safe group and individual exercises with in strength, balance and movement on land and in the pool.
  • Assists independent, assisted living and skilled nursing residents on mobility, balance, range of motion.
  • Instructs on the correct use of all exercise equipment and provides support on and off equipment.
  • Respects and observes residents’/members’ rights and privacy.
  • Leads and organizes personal training sessions with Arcadia at Home members.
  • Oversees the swimming pool and assists residents and members in and out of the pool safely.
  • Obtains the proper release waivers and doctor's permission slips from residents.
  • Charts resident and member wellness attendance, participation and progress.
  • Performs the necessary pool maintenance duties when scheduled such as water quality testing and vacuuming.
  • Maintains the Wellness Center in a clean and organized condition.
  • Performs the necessary duties for emergency drills and situations such as fire, fire alarms, hurricanes, and other possible emergencies as outlined in the Disaster Manual.
  • Ensures departmental compliance with corporate, state, and federal safety guidelines.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Arcadia Family of Companies.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience
One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous experience with seniors or fitness preferred.
Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations
Current CPR and First Aid certification required. Valid Drivers License needed to drive to Members homes to provide wellness services.

Proficiency in MS Office Suite, includes, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; talk or hear; and taste or smell. The employee frequently is required to stand and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; push and pull. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
