What to Expect
The Role:
Tesla Inc. has an immediate opportunity for a Workplace Specialist, Space Planning to join the Workplace team in our Austin, TX location. You will be responsible for assisting with maintenance of headcount, location data, and space reference material for Tesla Workplace locations. The successful candidate will possess strong business acumen, effective communication, proven AutoCAD skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
What You’ll Do
  • Work with Space Planning Program Manager to manage and to solve space requests.
  • Schedule and attend meetings with requestors to discuss, to analyze, and to record space requests.
  • Can comfortably review results and compare data to several competing requests, analyze domino effects, and critical path requirements in a fast paced environment.
  • Create phased relocations/reshuffle plans.
  • Complete scenario planning and test fits required to initiate Design and Construction Request.
  • Attend regular scheduled Space Planning and Workplace meetings.
  • Weekly assign seats to new hires and transfer employees.
  • Label desks for new seat assignments.
  • Support Workplace Team and vendors with onsite floorplans needed for moves and occupancy planning.
  • Schedule and supervise vendors for moves and furniture reconfigures as needed.
  • Create conceptual floor maps for wayfinding and service locations to support requestors inside and outside of the Workplace team.
  • Maintain accuracy of employee occupancy data in CAFM/IWMS system.
  • Maintain accuracy of architectural drawings in CAFM/IWMS system.
  • Collaborate with CAFM/IWMS system vendor for on-going training and system updates.
  • Provide test fits, furniture layouts, blocking, and stack plans.
  • Update As-Built drawings by performing site visits and field measurements as needed. May require walking long distances, climbing stairs, visiting non-air conditioned spaces, and/or standing for long periods of time.
  • Regularly update Space Planning team on requests and projects.
  • Collaborate with Design and Construction teams on active projects.
  • Schedule meetings and communicate regularly with on-site contacts regarding restacks, office changes, seat assisgnments, and floor-plan revisions.
  • Assist with furniture, finish, and fixture selections.
What You’ll Bring
  • 5-10 years of experience in Space Planning
  • Experience in program management
  • Experience working with vendors and external contacts
  • Experience with AutoCAD
  • Bachelors Degree or relevant field experience
