We at the YMCA Teen Center are seeking an Assistant Site Coordinator to help lead one of our school sites within our YMCA's Expanded Learning Program!

You will work with the Program Director to support, optimize, and manage day-to-day operations of our YMCA Expanded Learning (ELP) program at a designated school site. Be willing to learn. Take action to engage and inspire students, staff, and volunteers.
About the YMCA Expanded Learning Program
Our ELP team believes in elevating youth's voice and emotional intelligence so they flourish as future leaders. Every day, we provide safe afterschool spaces for youth to cultivate their social emotional growth, healthy relationships, and leadership skills. We envision a world where all students served by the Y discover their purpose to reach their full potential.
We work with schools in West Contra Costa and Oakland to create afterschool programming that focus on personal enrichment, physical well-being, and academic support.
Your Leadership Responsibilities
- Supervise students
- Plan and lead daily activities (academic, enrichment, or physical)
- Record and track attendance
- Collaborate with team to create clean and safe environments
- Do program observations and assessments to improve on program quality
- Collect accurate program data and measurements to show progress, success, and learnings
- Attend required trainings to become competent in managing the program
- Assist with other projects as needed
Your Qualifications:
- Have 48 college units or completion of the Instructional Aid (IA) Exam
- Have at least 2 years of experience with youth development and programming
- Have a car to travel to meeting and training sites
- Demonstrate effective conflict resolution, problem solving, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Possess ability to engage effectively with diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community
- Have proficiency in computer and database programs necessary to perform the duties of the job (Google Drive, AirTable, Zoom, etc)
- Obtain CPR, First Aid, AED certifications and Child Abuse Prevention training within 30 days of hire date
- Pass DOJ/FBI criminal background check

Our Commitment and Your Commitment
- Compensation: Starts at $22/hours (part-time non-exempt)
- Free annual YMCA Gym Membership
- Hours: Must be able to work Monday-Friday, 1:30pm-6:30pm. Because ELP is an afterschool program, you must be able to work afternoons and evenings.
