The Workforce Development Center, an affiliate of the Chamber Foundation, is looking to hire a full-time Youth Service Specialist (YSS) to join our team. YSS would be responsible for providing high school and out-of-school youth ages 16-24 with case management and mentoring support. Supports include connecting youth to employment, training, and work experience opportunities.

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Recruit and identify youth throughout Dutchess County for program enrollment.
• Develop and maintain a professional and respectful relationship with youth in order to encourage and model effective workplace and life skills
• Connect with local businesses to identify employment and work experience site locations
• Provide job coaching and site location visits
• Provide career services to youth including workshops on job readiness, resume development, and post-secondary education planning
• Develop an Individualized Student Success Plan to assist students with goals and supportive services
• Maintenance of daily attendance records, student progress forms, student evaluation forms, internship evaluation forms, and other reporting documents
• Work closely with community and school district partners and attend networking events
• Attend Chamber events as scheduled and cultivate relationships with employers
• Attend community events with youth

The right candidate must be able:

• To serve as a positive role model
• To work with a diverse group of youth, families, employers and community partners
• Show experience working with youth
• Have an understanding of the local community and human services is desirable
• Be comfortable transporting youth
• Proficiency in Word and Excel required, and ability to learn program database.
• Bachelors degree preferred
• Travel to employers, schools, stores and other program related events is necessary
• Mileage is reimbursed
• Hours: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday 8:30-4:30pm, Thursdays 11:00am-7:00pm.
