Job description

The Mentoring Coordinator leads a pilot mentoring program in Johnston County in partnership with the Johnston County Youth Advisory Council, youth participants, mentors, selected Johnston County Schools and local employers.

Essential functions include but are not limited to the following:

• Target, recruit and enroll eligible youth and young adults per program scope

• Recruit and onboard eligible mentors

• Provide guidance and support

• Monitor student progress

• Be primary point of contact for school staff and administration

• Target and recruit local employers for career exposure and job placement

• Provide outcome and progress updates to leadership and stakeholders

Minimum Qualifications:

Required: Associates Degree in human service field and one year of related experience in workforce development

Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in human service field and 3 years of related experience in workforce development

• Ability to communicate effectively
• Ability to work independently with general supervision

• Ability to relate to program consumers and participating agencies

• Ability to maintain accurate and timely records

• Proficient in word processing, spreadsheets and other programs and compiling statistical data

• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in both oral and written form

Job Type: Part-time
