The Account Group Supervisor is a brand champion, demonstrating strong ownership of the brand and keeping the focus on brand success. An Account Group Supervisor manages his/her business including the supervision of the account team. Often, an Account Group Supervisor has subordinate(s) for whom he/she is responsible.

What we expect from you

Project Development:

  • Develops strategic skills, masters tactical planning and implementation
  • Ensures all creative and tactics developed support the brand positioning
  • Continually seeks brand-building opportunities/ways to overcome obstacles
  • Appropriately interprets and applies market research data
  • Participates in development of a strategic communications plan with alignment between issues, strategies, and tactics
  • Leads creative and account teams in the development of breakthrough creative to ensure high quality agency output, reflective of consistently superior creative product
  • Champions the creative product
  • Provides appropriate supervision to their direct reports
  • Works with the team to ensure all work is delivered on time and accurately
  • In absence of VP/AS, leads competitive analysis and delivery of agency POV of brand/market news or competitive creative (or supports VP/AS in these activities)
  • Alerts client if timelines and budgets need to be revised (along with rationale)
  • Ensures team has all needed input and resources necessary to develop and execute campaigns/tactics (i.e., creative brief, media input, hours/OOPs)
  • Provides appropriate supervision to his/her direct reports

Client Relations:

  • Serves as key client contact and ensures the client is kept apprised of the status of all jobs and ongoing progress
  • Attends client meetings/conventions/market research and handles timely follow-up
  • Delivers recommendations for programs, big ideas, and incremental income, and seeks opportunities to continually strengthen quality of client relations
  • Helps arbitrate and solve problems as needed among the account team (escalates issues to management, if and when needed)
  • Seeks opportunities to continually strengthen quality of client relations (i.e., value-add ideas, keeping client abreast of competitive/industry information/POV)
  • Completely understands and facilitates follow-through on all internal and client processes (i.e., medical/legal/regulatory, production, and media)

Financial:

  • Maintains financial control of all client work (estimates, jobs, fees, billing) within the guidelines of the client’s budget
  • Generates project lists for fee development
  • Prepares forecasts and updates regularly
  • Identifies opportunities to realize incremental income

Team Building/Leadership:

  • Spearheads preparation of strategic options, copy strategy, and creative
  • Provides clear direction and establishes expectations for subordinates
  • Delegates tasks as appropriate while ensuring quality meets agency standards
  • Evaluates performance of account team members and makes developmental recommendations
  • Advocates for staff growth and development while providing clear and regular performance feedback

Background/experience and skills

  • College degree
  • 5-7 years in account services at a healthcare communications agency
  • Supervisory experience a plus
  • MS Office including: Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Internet search capabilities
