Role Snapshot
Our Account Manager role directly manages WPS large group business consisting of all sizes of ASO clients, as well as supporting groups with more than 50 employees. Account managers are involved in insurance presale and providing personal service to retain membership while supporting growth.
- Develop and build relationships with group leaders and representative agents to insure business year to year, especially when contracts expire.
- Manage/consult with WPS group accounts on plan benefits as a group.
- Assist in the education of groups on insurance and claims options by providing information for their employees.
- Consider employee claims from the groups you represent and make the best recommendations on courses of action.
- Ensure the resolution of issues for clients.
- Facilitate the setup of new and renewing groups, including the use of external on-site transition meetings.
- Effectively communicate with group clients in regards to policy and coverage related to questions and information.

Minimum Qualifications
Professional Level:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, Marketing, or related field OR equivalent post high school education and/or work-related experience
- 2 or more years of experience in health and life insurance sales/retention
- Wisconsin Health Insurance License
Senior Level:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, Marketing, or related field OR equivalent post high school education and/or work-related experience
- Five (5) or more years in Health and Life Insurance Administration, with at least one (1) year of progressive responsibility as WPS Customer Service Consultant or similar experience outside WPS
- Wisconsin Health Insurance License
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong public speaking and presentation skills which include comfort in the presence of large audiences
- Previous account manager experience in health insurance
- Intermediate experience using MS PowerPoint, MS Word, and a CRM (i.e. MS Dynamics, Salesforce, etc.)
- Self-funded and ASO experience
Salary Range
- Professional Level – $70,000 - $80,000 annually
- Senior Level – $85,000 to $110,000 annually
- The base pay offered for this position may vary within the posted range based on your job-related knowledge, skills and experience.
- This role is also eligible for a monthly Retention and Service Commission
Travel
This role will require travel (mainly day trips) for in-person meetings with employer groups. All travel is within the state of Wisconsin. Travel is estimated to be at approximately 10% to 15% except for the 4th quarter of the year, it would be heavier with up to 50% travel. This role is eligible is for a company vehicle, gas card, and cell phone.

For remote position, employee is required to meet remote worker requirements, including a designated work station, a wired (Ethernet) connection to the network, and a minimum of 10Mbps downstream connection with at least 1Mbps upstream (can be checked at https://speedtest.net)
