Essential Functions:

  • Assists in preparing monthly financials by analyzing expenses and revenues. Prepares reports: Capital Budget and Non-Budget, Capital Expenditure Summary. Prepares information for Census and utilization statistics.
  • Prepares routine monthly journal entries, analyzes general ledger accounts as necessary and makes correcting entries as appropriate.
  • Maintains fixed assets system recording new assets and listing of disposals. Determines lives of all new assets and performs monthly upload to the FAS as needed.
  • Upload all invoices to Lawson and manage accounts payable system, assisting Directors as necessary to code/approve all invoices for timely payment
  • Reconciles control accounts to subsidiary system on a monthly basis, including Fixed Assets, Capital Accounts, and Accounts Payable Accrual.
  • Prepare Daily Cash Report
  • Prepares reconciliations of fixed assets, depreciation, related party accounts, and other work papers as requested by Auditors or Department Director.
  • Assists with budget preparation.
  • Reads batches from all modules into GL correcting any bad account numbers.
  • Back-up for Daily Flash Report and all daily statistical filings with the HSC.
  • Gather information for yearly applications including NCHS, Licensure, Insurance, JCAHO and others as assigned.
  • Attends monthly capital and value analysis meetings when scheduled.
  • Develops analytical/departmental reports as required or requested.
  • Serves as an interdepartmental liaison. Works with internal and external auditors to prepare for and facilitate audits.
  • Ensures departmental and organizational compliance with current accounting standards, hospital policies and applicable laws and regulations.

Minimum Education
:

  • Bachelor's Degree required (Accounting/Finance preferred).

Required Skills

  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Minimum Work Experience

  • 1-3 years accounting experience required (preferred Healthcare accounting experience).
