Job Summary: The Activities Director develops, plans, provides and coordinates recreational, social, physical, spiritual and intellectual activities to meet the needs of the residents in Oak View Suites.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

• Encourage and arrange for participation in social activities.
• Plan and implement activities, including monthly activity calendar.
• Continually evaluate the existing activity programs and make proper adjustments as the needs of the residents change.
• Assist with or conduct monthly Resident Council Meetings.
• Maintain knowledge of supplies and materials and keep in good condition.
• Notify Administrator of materials required to perform duties.
• Attend to resident complaints and request. Including answering them, documentation and reporting to Director of Nursing, Administrator and Nurse on duty.
• Notify the nurse in charge whenever a resident shows a change in condition that may require evaluation or medical services.
• Report all incidents and unusual occurrences for residents, staff or visitors in a timely manner.
• Maintain cleanliness of Oak View Suites living area.
• Maintain a safe environment for residents, visitors and staff. Take action to remove safety hazards and prevent injury.
• Cooperate with other departments and support staff in the delivery of care and services to residents.
• Keep the Administrator and Director of Nursing informed of problems, concerns or needs of residents or staff.
• Assure resident rights and dignity is maintained at all times.
• Participate in case conferences, in-services and staff meetings.
• Adhere to all Oak View Suites policies and procedures.
• Adhere to all John Knox Village policies and procedures.
• Adhere to all John Knox Village rules and regulations such as driving, parking and smoking.
• Follow chain of command.
