As the Agricultural Analyst you would be responsible for managing the rice and grain transaction data and confirming the accuracy of the information maintained in the database. This position is also responsible for managing all grower accounts and payment process.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage all aspects of the Lundberg Family Farms rice and grain data, including set-up, operation, and maintenance of the grain accounting software.
  • Identify, investigate, and reconcile rice and grain related variances from other departments.
  • Oversee preparation of monthly and annual reporting for management, industry associations, government statistics, and rice and grain related regulatory agencies.
  • Responsible for all aspects of grower accounting – including: liens, progress payments, deductions, and landlord shares.
  • Ensure LFF’s paddy rice program conforms to USDA’s Commodity Credit Corporation requirements. Acts as primary contact for all auditors.
  • Manage company-owned paddy stock. Take appropriate action to maintain adequate levels for milling. Independently issue and redeem warehouse receipts.
  • Collaborate with Agriculture division personnel to maintain information related to growers, paddy rice paper work, confirmations, warehouse receipts, Grower Option Agreements, and rice redemption.
  • Supervise Agriculture Clerk and seasonal scale staff. Provide direct oversite of weighmaster functions including training & certifying new staff to perform weighmaster functions.
  • Ensure scale operations are in compliance with governing regulation.
  • Responsible for the management of all harvest related transactions and reporting including grower documentation, quantity received, and quality of product received.
  • Responsible for management of Farm Service Agency (FSA) Market Loan program across multiple counties.
  • Ensure seed sales documentation is in compliance with all applicable regulations.
  • Perform other assignments, as requested by the Vice President of Agriculture, to achieve department and company business goals.
  • 2 years of relevant accounting experience. Grain accounting strongly preferred
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
  • Solid experience with data base set up, operation, and use required
  • Ability to work flexible hours – especially during spring and harvest season. At times this position will work 6 days per week.
  • Prior experience with GrainSmart would be a plus

Salary range: $70,000 - $85,000/year
