Job description
As the Assistant Director of Weekend Programming and Staffing, you will be responsible to plan, implement and engage students in structured residential activities and community engagement programming to improve students increased self-worth and happiness in collaboration with the Residential Department. Develop a communicative, inspired atmosphere that promotes a strategic and safe programming and staffing culture that aligns with Latham Centers’ mission. Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services/related field or one-year supervisory experience preferred. Requirements include a valid driver’s license and the ambulatory ability sufficient to physically intervene in instances of extreme behavior that might jeopardize the safety of students and/or staff.

Key Responsibilities:
- Direct supervision of Weekend Support Supervisors
- Develop and implement weekly meetings focusing on staffing and weekend programming
- Lead in tracking shift pick-ups in collaboration with Scheduling Department
- Work directly with Residential and Scheduling Departments to coordinate Weekend Staffing Patterns for Residential and CCW Shifts
- Identify and coordinate student residential movement if needed
- Provide direct oversight and coordination of weekend outings and campus activities.
- Enact as Director On-Call in conjunction with Residential Department for weekend starting on Friday, 5:00pm-Monday, 7:00am.
- Enact as primary contact during weekend hours for parent/guardian communication and notifications.
- Ensure timely completion of weekend incident reports and shift documentation.
- Assist in direct care capacity as needed.
- Assists in adjusting Children’s Direct Care Schedule in conjunction with the Scheduling Dept.
Fluent English speaking and writing skills, empathy and the ability to listen, good time management skills and professional appearance and demeanor are all required for this position.

Earned Time Away – accrues at the rate of five weeks a year and can be used for any personal time off including vacation time, sick leave and holidays. After one year, it increases to six weeks, after three years to seven weeks and after ten years to eight weeks. Time is prorated for part-time employees.
Extended Sick Leave - accrues at the rate of one week a year and may be used starting on day one of an accident or in-patient hospitalization, or day six of an illness. Time is prorated for part-time.
Life Insurance/AD&D – Life insurance in the amount of $10,000 is provided at no cost, as well as a matching amount for Accidental Death and Dismemberment. You will need only to complete a beneficiary form.
Long-term Disability - coverage is provided at no cost. It allows an employee to apply for up to 60% of their basic monthly earnings after three months of disability. Maximum cap applies.
Health Insurance - The agency offers 3 health insurance plans through Health Plans, Inc., which uses the Harvard Pilgrim provider network. You may select individual, one + one, or family coverage. The cost is shared by the staff member and the agency, based on the plan type, membership status and number of hours worked. Employee premiums may be made on a pre-tax basis. Domestic partners may be eligible for coverage.
Flex Spending Account - allows you to set aside pre-tax dollars through payroll deduction for out-of-pocket medical, dental and vision and/or dependent care expenses.
Retirement Plan - The 403B is a voluntary plan available through Sentinel Benefits and Financial Group. The Agency provides employer match for eligible participants, with 100% vesting from day one. Per diem employees may enroll in this benefit.
Tuition Reimbursement - is available to staff who have worked with Latham Centers, Inc. for one year or more and are in a regular benefited position at the beginning and end of the course. Eligible employees may receive up to $2000 per fiscal year.
Tuition Remission - Tuition Remission offers free tuition to eligible employees at participating state colleges, universities, and community colleges. Program participants will need to pay fees and the cost of books.
Voluntary Dental – The agency offers 2 dental insurance plans through Altus Dental. The plans provide valuable protection for the dental needs of both you and your family. You will have access to coverage within the Altus network of dental providers, as well as out-of-network coverage should you choose to use a non-participating provider. All preventive services are covered 100% with no deductible required. These plans offer affordable discounted rates by virtue of being purchased through Latham Centers on a group basis.
Voluntary Vision - Vision benefits through EyeMed allow you and your family to access benefits through the EyeMed national network of providers. The plan includes benefits for annual eye exams, lenses, and frames and offers great value-added features including discounts for lens enhancements, additional glasses, sunglasses and laser vision correction.
Voluntary Short-Term Disability - This plan is designed to replace a portion of your weekly income if you are disabled and cannot work due to a covered accident or illness. Short term disability benefits can last up to 13 weeks and you can choose a benefit that fits your needs at initial enrollment. Evidence of insurability will be required if enrolling after initial offering.
Voluntary Term Life/AD&D- This benefit option allows you to elect life insurance and accidental death/dismemberment coverage for yourself, your spouse, and your dependent children. Employees will have the opportunity to elect up to $150,000 of life insurance coverage without answering any medical questions at their initial enrollment period. Coverage is affordable and flexible to fit your needs. If enrolling after initial offering, employees will need to complete the Evidence of Insurability medical questions.
Voluntary Critical Illness- Critical Illness insurance is designed to help employees offset the financial effects of a catastrophic illness, such as cancer, heart attack or stroke, with a lump sum benefit and is also available for spouse and dependent coverage. The plan includes a $50 health screening benefit paid directly to the employee for having a screening such as mammogram or colonoscopy. Evidence of insurability will be required if enrolling after initial offering.
Voluntary Accident - This benefit is paid directly to you in the event of an eligible claim due to accident on or off the job. Benefits are paid in addition to any other health coverage you may have and is also available for spouse and dependents. Examples of benefits include $500 if you are hospitalized, $150 if you use the Emergency Room. The plan also includes a $50 health screening benefit. Evidence of insurability will be required if enrolling after initial offering.
