Brass Bird Coffee & Kitchen is hiring for an Assistant Pastry Chef/Baker. This is a production position and will not interact with customers.

This role will focus on our baking side of production, helping with making scones, muffins, cinnamon rolls, and other fun confections for our cafe under our Executive Pastry Chef. We'll have rotating and seasonal pastries and desserts and want to keep things fresh and fun!

Duties include:

• Work with Exectutive Pastry Chef to prepare, produce, and bake breakfast pastries, breads, rolls, and some desserts.
• Decorates baked goods, such as cream pies, using a pastry bag.
• Sets time and speed controls for mixing machines, or blending machines, so that ingredients will be mixed or cooked according to instructions.
• Measures or weigh flour or other ingredients to prepare batters, doughs, fillings, or whipped cream, using scales or graduated containers.
• Prepare garnishes as needed for baked goods.
• Assists in maintainting adequate supply of all prepared products on hand and ensures the proper storage and refrigeration.
• Utilizes any and all leftovers into usable products.
• Cleans, breaks down, and puts away all baking equipment including: ovens, mixers, proofer, floors, freezer, and refrigerators.
