Chamisa Veterinary Services is located in beautiful Santa Fe, NM. A great small city with four mild seasons, beautiful culture and fantastic food. There are two National Labs nearby (Los Alamos and Sandia) and Albuquerque is about one hour away.

Smaller, niche practice focusing on senior dog and cat care including rehabilitation, pain management, in depth medical management of chronic disease, palliative and hospice care and compassionate humane euthanasia. We offer house calls for pets unable to come to the clinic and in-clinic care for pets who are able to travel. Training and mentoring are available for rehabilitation as well as hospice and palliative care. We follow CAETA recommendations for humane euthanasia. In-house after-care as well with our own aquamation machine.

Scheduling is by appointment only, no walk-ins or emergencies unless requested by the doctor on duty to fill their schedule. We are 100% paperless with cloud based software. The practice is housed in a newly renovated buildout. We don’t offer surgery, dentistry or anesthesia as most of our clients opt for specialty care for these services. Disrespectful behavior from clients is not tolerated and we are happy to send them elsewhere. There is a 24 hour ER about 45 minutes away.

We are a fully equipped and staffed rehabilitation practice with an Oasis Underwater Treadmill, 2 different cold lasers: Companion and Cutting Edge models, e-stim and TENS, exercise equipment for dogs, chiropractic care and acupuncture by trained and licensed professionals from these fields.

Our company vehicles are equipped with everything you could need for house calls including doppler blood pressure, a portable cold laser as well as commonly used supplies and medications. Doctors are provided with a laptop and company phone for internet access while traveling.

Our clinic is privately owned by one owner with an office manager and dedicated support team. We are staffed at one well trained assistant per doctor for house calls and two well trained assistants per doctor when in the clinic. The assistant also does the driving so there is time between appointments for answering emails and phone calls. Leadership, partnership and ownership opportunities are available. I am hoping to one day sell the practice to a fantastic associate and not a corporation.

Office hours are 9am to 6pm Monday through Friday only. We start on time, leave on time and clients are expected to be on-time. No after hours calls or emergencies. Appointments are 30-60 minutes depending on the pet’s need. The doctors set their own schedules (start time, lunch and end time) and full time is considered 32 appointment hours per week. Pay can be either straight production pay or negotiated pro-sal. There are 4 weeks paid PTO available for full time associates, pro-rated down for part-time associates, plus 1 sick hour of pay earned for every 30 hours worked per New Mexico State law. Earning potential is upward of $180K for a motivated associate.
