GENERAL POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Assist in the feeding, management of horses, and general barn and stall cleaning at the Highlander Ranch. Receives general supervision from the Barn Manager and exercises no direct supervision. Note: This is a security sensitive position and an appropriate background investigation will be made on applicants being strongly considered for this position.

SELECTION CRITERIA:*
Ability to: 1. Catch, halter, lead and turn out horses. 2. Operate/drive ranch implements. 3. Follow feed schedule. 4. Follow barn management schedule.

WORKING CONDITIONS*:
Exertive: Significant exertion on a daily basis. Awkward postures and work positions; Sustained activities require strength (e.g. using tools); Frequent moderate lifting (50-75 lbs.); Unpleasant exposure to dust grease; noise, inclement weather, temperature extremes, and unpleasant but not hazardous odors. Occasional exposure to risk controlled by safety precautions. Frequency or severity are limited.
QUALIFICATIONS:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Education: High School diploma or GED.
Experience: Any combination of experience or training, formal or informal, to perform duties listed.
