Position Summary

The Body Shop Painter is knowledgeable in the field of auto body painting and possesses the necessary skills to perform related repairs and custom paint refinishing according to the manufacturer's specifications. Body Shop Painters paint bodies and body parts of automotive vehicles such as cars, vans, trucks, buses, campers, and trailers.

This position is not ‘remote work’ capable and requires punctual, consistent, and regular attendance for all scheduled shifts. Missed work affects the day-to-day operations of the company. This in turn negatively impacts fellow employees through lowered morale and / or lost income opportunities.

Duties and Responsibilities

Job duties for the Body Shop Painter include but are not limited to:

• Acts as a goodwill ambassador for the dealership by promoting professionalism and displaying excellent customer satisfaction skills.
• Spray paints automobiles, machines and accessories.
• Balances and tints colors.
• Selects and mixes colors to match the vehicle’s color.
• Sands, fills and primes vehicles as part of the preparation.
• Masks areas that are not included to be painted.
• Communicates with the Body Shop Manager or client about their preferred colors and design.
• Performs all duties in a safe manner following all company safety guidelines and policies.
• Performs other duties as requested or required.

Qualifications

Two years’ experience in a body shop environment as a painter is preferred. Good communication skills, multi-tasking skills preferred. I-car/GM Training and ASE certifications required.

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements

Body Shop Painters work indoors in the body shop, which is often noisy with some dust and paint fumes. Body Shop Painters may work in awkward and cramped positions, and the work can be physically demanding. Extended working hours may be required, which may include working at nighttime or weekends. Weather conditions may vary depending on the season. This position may include heavy lifting. Significant standing, walking, moving, climbing, carrying, bending, kneeling, crawling, reaching, handling, pushing, and pulling. Must be able to move about the complex in all weather conditions and be able to enter and exit most types of vehicles.

Pay: $90,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year

Schedule:

• 10 hour shift
• 12 hour shift
• 8 hour shift
• Day shift
• Monday to Friday

Supplemental pay types:

• Whitefish, MT: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

Experience:

• Auto painting: 2 years (Preferred)
