Have you considered what it may be like to work at Pratt & Whitney? We have an opportunity for a Budget Manager for Instrumentation Operations, Development Operations to be based in Middletown, CT.

In this role, you will report to the Instrumentation Operations Director and will be responsible for coordinating instrumentation operations military and commercial engine program budgets for Development Operations. Individuals should have experience with EVMS and Engineering and be able to apply financial best practices, but training could be provided. The individual will work with the Discipline Managers within Development Operations and PSCV, as well as the Validation Managers, Budget Managers and Program Office to create budget estimates, support proposals, track monthly costs and staffing levels, support the OMM manpower process, and communicate risks and opportunities. Success will be measured by meeting program timelines and managing financial risks for funded programs. Some travel required.

  • Should be highly self directed and able to learn quickly with a strong ability to drive and deliver results.


Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum 8 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of relevant experience or 12 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Must be a US citizen due to government contracts
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a US government security clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree in an engineering, finance or business discipline
  • 8+ years of experience in development of gas turbines
  • Excellent leadership, communication, problem solving, analytical, prioritization and multi-tasking skills
  • Highly motivated and able to drive tasks to completion.
  • Ability to work with all levels of management
  • Communicate effectively and coordinate between a diverse team of individuals.
  • Forward thinking and be customer focused enabling the team to meet the demands of highly visible development programs.
  • Highly self-directed and able to learn quickly with a strong ability to drive and deliver results.
  • Active security clearance
  • Previous Instrumentation experience
