Position: Buildings & Grounds Crew Member

Reports to: Buildings & Grounds Supervisor
Scope: This role has primary responsibility and accountability for performing the necessary work for the divisional unit to which they are assigned. The work includes the maintenance of buildings, lawns, and landscaping and the setup and tear-down for events GEN-D coordinates.
The Position
The candidate assists with the day-to-day functions of maintaining the buildings, lawns, and landscape beds of our client’s properties under the direction of the crew lead and supervisor. This position requires completing equipment and safety procedures to GEN-D’s standards. It is important that the person filling this role is able and willing to see a need to meet a need of the client. When necessary, a crew member must communicate needs, workloads and challenges to the crew lead and/or supervisor but also receive direction and make the necessary adjustments and improvements.
These responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Implement operational tasks
- Performs maintenance of building, lawn, and/or landscape as instructed
- Assists in setting up and removing items for special events and catering
- Assists in cleaning, detailing, and maintaining all vehicles and equipment to GEN-D’s standards
- Completes safety procedures
- Receives and performs necessary duties to complete the work assigned
- Assesses and solves problems as they arise
- Acts as on-call emergency response when needed
Communication with team
- Clearly communicates maintenance needs according to client, vendor/contractor, or firsthand notice to supervisor and/or Manager of Buildings & Grounds
- Works with private contractors to support their work as instructed by supervisor
Communicate with client(s)
- Carries out client communication as directed by supervisor or crew lead
- Represents GEN-D standards throughout all employment periods.

- Knowledgeable and/or experienced in building and lawn maintenance
- Knowledgeable and/or experienced in using power equipment and tools
- Hardworking & agile

Working for GEN-D
- Current hours of employment are Monday through Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm with some evening and weekend hours to support the events team and in peak season, including weekends and/or holidays
- Reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and proper insurance are necessary as occasional use of personal vehicle is required
- Personal vehicle mileage will be reimbursed in accordance with GEN-D’s standards (does not include mileage of commute to the GEN-D Property office)
- Candidate must be able to perform the physical functions of the position (e.g., lift a minimum of 60lbs, operate heavy equipment, and move into positions to reach into tight spaces)
