Job Title: Chief Information Officer (CIO)
Department: Information Technology
Immediate Supervisor Title: Executive Director
Job Supervisory Responsibilities: The CIO holds a key leadership role in the critical, strategic, technical and management initiatives related to IT. The CIO is responsible for assessing, planning, directing, developing, and maintaining the medical practice's information technology, including computers, computer networks and servers, computer programs, telecommunications, Website, and other technologies. Works with physicians, staff and other facility departments when developing and implementing policies and procedures. Participates in a team environment to include open communication, trust, accountability, and mutual respect. Keeps compliance and security at the forefront of all decision-making.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Minimum requirements include:
- A Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, business, or technical field.
- Master’s in computer science preferred.
- Minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in information systems with two years in a health care setting.
- Knowledge of data analysis, systems design, problem identification, and medical office technologies.
- Current and on-going knowledge of computer and server hardware, software, and data communications including comparability and system configuration.
- Knowledge of basic programming languages. Knowledge of fiscal management.
- Extensive knowledge of MS Office.
- Exceptional listening and communication skills
- Project management experience
General Summary:
- An exempt, management position responsible for leading and directing operations in IT and EMR systems.
- As a member of our management team, you will have the opportunity to perform a variety of duties including business development, planning, and supervision.
- As the CIO, you will directly overseethe end-user satisfaction, productivity, budgeting, monitoring, and reporting of all IT-related activities, and ensure these systems are working effectively.
- You will collaborate with various members of the DMA team to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other departments and staff at all levels to provide a unified approach to patient care.
- You must be able to exercise discretion in delegating responsibilities to staff and foster ongoing rapport and communication with physicians and other providers, the DMA management team, finance and accounting staff, contracting staff and other departments in order to provide sound information and support.
- Be an active participant in all operational areas as appointed (including any new initiatives) by preparing and presenting pertinent medical technological analyses.

Essential Job Responsibilities:
The Chief Information Officer is responsible for overseeing the company’s IT needs, to include managing and implementing technology to support the organization’s goals. The following duties are representative of this position.
- Manages IT staff, both in-house and outsourced partners and oversees relationships with vendors, contractors, and service providers.
- Assesses IT workforce needs, develops mission, strategy, goals, policies, and budget for IT department.
- Develops IT policies, procedures, and best practices, in compliance with medical practice operations.
- Collaborates with all levels of staff, including medical providers, to identify challenges and to then develop strategic IT needs.
- Evaluates and establishes priorities for upgrades and modifications in line with clinic goals.
- Develops, recommends, coordinates, and implements new or revised procedures, policies, programs, and equipment to ensure IT effectiveness.
- Oversees system analyses and computer projects from problem definition through system implementation. Oversees and accepts responsibility for solving IT challenges.
- Ensures that DMA hardware, including all computers, fax machines, printer, copiers, etc., function properly on a daily basis.
- Develops and implements effective measures to protect PHI and various types of DMA data, to include backups, updates, cybersecurity measures, and hardware security procedures and policies.
- Stays abreast of leading-edge information technology. Works with all users to identify and deploy computer equipment and supplies to assure value, ability, order time, capability, and capacity in accordance with budget, growth, and new application needs.
- Stays abreast of regulatory guidance and mandates related to IT.
- Identifies and coordinates training needs for DMA associates related to DMA software and hardware (HIPAA, Cybersecurity, Phishing, etc.)
- Responsible for regulatory and program-related IT reporting (SRA – security risk analysis, etc.)
- Serves as DMA Security Officer
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $90,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
