Position Title: Cleanup Revision Date: 2/20/2020

Division: Lumber Location: Emmett Sawmill

Purpose

This position involves keeping the mill grounds organized and maintained. Successful candidates will be self-starters who can work well as part of a team and with minimal supervision. Cleanup crew members are responsible for removing sawdust, wood chips, and other waste from the mill and maintain the cleanliness of mill breakrooms, bathrooms, and offices. All Woodgrain employees will be expected to exemplify the our core values and put Safety Above All.

Essential Duties, Responsibilities, Expectations and Performance Measures

• Clean up sawdust from machines, run the sweeper.
• Clean bathrooms, breakroom, and main office .
• General plant clean up.
• Reclaim banding boards and pallets.
• Recycle cardboard and brass shavings. Maintain trash cans.
• Maintenance of the parking lot, includes filling holes, weed control, etc.
• Keep outside material under tarps, keep roof tops and ditches free of sawdust and debris.
• Help offices move equipment, furniture, etc when called upon.
• Walk and stand for long periods of time, bend, twist, kneel, stoop and squat.
• Ascend and descend stairs/ladders.
• Abide by all safety/environmental policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience/Certification

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Lift truck operating experience preferred
• Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred

Physical Demands and Work Environment

What working conditions or physical functions are normally required to perform the essential functions of the job?

The physical demands and work environment are representative of a typical sawmill environment. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. Noise level is moderate to high depending on the area of the mill. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is often required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk and hear. Requires close vision, distance vision, and depth perception. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.
