Job Summary
Under the general supervision of the Behavioral Health Division Manager, this position is responsible for providing specialized professional psychotherapy to individuals, groups and/or families with complex mental health and substance abuse disorders. This position is also responsible for the clinical supervision of the outpatient mental health treatment providers employed by Shawano County DHS.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Personally maintains a caseload of the more complex mental health and substance abuse cases within Outpatient, Comprehensive Community Services, Community Support Program, and Drug Court Treatment Programming.
- Provides clinical supervision to outpatient mental health staff of three or more clinicians; confers with staff regularly regarding techniques used, case progress, and related matters for the purpose of promoting and evaluating professional development and assuring quality of care and ethical standards.
- Conducts regular case conferences with clinicians and interns for supervision and consultation; supervises staff in assessing social, emotional and economic causes of problem behavior and mental or emotional disorders and in developing and modifying treatment and approves alternative plans
- Provides evidenced based assessments of individuals referred to the Drug Court Program to determine eligibility, as well as provides intensive outpatient treatment curriculum required to address the high risk/high needs, participants of the program.
- Participants as a core member of the Shawano County Drug Court Team, sharing expertise in areas related to treatment planning, treatment progress, and prognosis for individuals enrolled in the drug court program.
- Ensures compliance with related federal, state and local regulations, as well as departmental and county policies and procedures. This includes, but is not limited to, progress notes, treatment plans, assessments, collateral contacts, records release requests, discharge summaries. Demonstrates this skill within personal caseload and provides guidance/feedback to clinical staff to ensure adherence to certification and best practice standards.
- Assists the Behavioral Health Division manager in determining the appropriateness of termination of treatment, transfer of cases, assignment or reassignment of client’s and employee caseloads.
- Assists the Behavioral Health Care Manager with program planning, implementation, revision or establishment of policies and procedures and evaluation activities.
- Provides consultation to non-Behavioral Health Care staff regarding Behavioral Health services, programs, and guidelines.
- Perform other related duties and participants in special projects, such as, but not limited to, community outreach and public relations functions.
Work Requirements
- Master's Degree in Social Work, Professional Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or related field.
- Continuing education credits as prescribed by the WI Admin Code and the Department of Regulation and Licensing
- Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists.
- Requires ability to obtain and maintain annual training to provide services under DHS Chapter 34, 35, 36, 63 and 75.
- Requires valid WI driver’s license and adequate insurance as required by the County.

Pay: $61,462.96 - $79,023.78 per year
