This role is part of Datavant's Solutions team. Our team is responsible for supporting Datavant's growth by driving strategic, repeatable, and innovative use cases for healthcare data exchange. We are a small group who deeply cares about healthcare innovation and we believe that Datavant's exponential growth can and will lead to better patient outcomes.
The Trials Solutions Lead will be responsible for driving key R&D use cases that rely on the linkage of clinical trial data (e.g., phase I-IV, registries, pragmatic studies, external control arms, etc.) to third party data sources in the Datavant ecosystem. You'll work closely with our commercial, product, marketing, and product success teams to build and deliver novel ways of using health data in clinical research. Your external conversations will fuel our internal product development efforts, and you'll be the first to scope new ways of bringing real-world data into clinical development with our life sciences, ecosystem, and public sector customers. You Will:
- Drive market demand across well-defined solutions and use cases. The Trials Solution Lead will work in select focus areas of interest to drive adoption of Datavant offerings and will become the Datavant Subject Matter Expert for these focus areas. Responsibilities include defining the use case based on market research, driving conversations with target customers and prospects to iterate on the value of the use case, working with the Go-To-Market team to close new business, and developing content (case studies, conference posters, publications, etc.) to educate the market. Example focus areas may include:
- Developing use cases for a specific therapeutic area
- Construction of external control arms with linked real-world data
- Developing and pursuing R&D use cases in a new market segment
- Build deep strategic relationships for end-to-end solution fulfillment. The Trials Solution Lead will identify and work with the appropriate Datavant partners to both drive business to and offer a more compelling solution for end customers. This includes working with analytics, CRO, data source, and technology partners across the R&D space. Engagements with strategic partners, Key Opinion Leaders, advisors, and regulatory bodies may be run by this role.
- Collaborate on product and solution development. The Trials Solution Lead will work with the product and product success teams to identify areas where product improvements will lead to better delivery of clinical trials use cases. Expect to collaborate on the product roadmap across use cases to improve both product and solution offerings, and exchange ideas and customer feedback to improve solutions.
- Demonstrate value of Datavant products supporting R&D. The Trials Solution Lead will drive category creation work focused on targeted use cases and thought leadership. Expect to share key learnings across the Datavant organization, to lead strategic co-marketing opportunities, and to pursue scientific validation projects.

Our compensation philosophy is to be externally competitive, internally fair, and not win or lose on compensation. Salary ranges are developed with the support of benchmarks (competitive San Francisco rates for US-based roles) and industry best practices.

Individual rates for the same job title may differ based on their level, responsibilities, skills, and experience for a specific job. The estimated salary range for this role is $150,000 - $215,000.
