Hughes has an exciting opportunity for a Commissions Specialist. This position will be located at our headquarters in Germantown, MD. This position will support all North America retailers and partners. This position will interact with key stakeholders across the Sales, Marketing, Accounting, Payroll and Relationship Management departments and provide timely and accurate weekly payouts to retailers.
Responsibilities:
  • Process weekly, monthly and quarterly commissions for Dealers, Independent Sales Agents, National Call Centers in accordance with company’s commission guidelines
  • Learn commissions payment rules for various channels, commission elements and service plans
  • Conduct research and investigations of compensation discrepancies and payment queries from retailers/partners and ad-hoc
  • Update and maintain configurations within commission system, required for setting up new payment rules
  • Maintain KPI’s and Identify monthly payment trends that may indicate potential problems with data capture/processing or unusual lifts or declines in payment components
  • Develop ad-hoc Excel-based reports for internal departments and Senior Management
Basic Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree Finance, Economics, Computer Science or another related field
  • 2 or more years of experience in Sales commissions/compensation.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Exceptional aptitude for Data Analysis with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of data with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to develop a narrative from observed data and trends
  • Self-starter and desire for continuous process improvements
  • Experience in using compensation tools such as IBM Incentive Compensation Management (ICM) tool also known as Varicent
  • Advanced Excel expertise including Macros, VLOOKUP and pivots tables
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Familiarity with using SharePoint, SAP and Salesforce a plus
Will be eligible for discretionary bonus, with funding based on company performance.
