Position: Computer Science Teacher - Elementary, Middle, and High School

College Preparatory School of America in Lombard, Illinois is seeking talented educators to teach elementary, middle, and high school computer science classes. Both Part-time and Full-time positions are available. Teachers should be confident in teaching some but not necessarily all of the following classes: Typing, Scratch, HTML, Python, AP Computer Science Principles, and AP Computer Science A (Java). Applicants should have a thorough understanding of computers and have a passion for teaching and explaining logic, computers, and programming to children. Familiarity with Robotics or prior experience programming professionally is a plus.

CPSA is a private K-12 religious school that has been one of the premier schools in the Chicagoland area since 1991 and is currently ranked by the Washington Post as the #1 most challenging school in Illinois. We are especially seeking educators with a strong passion for teaching students, a love for computer science, and a creative/innovative approach to transferring knowledge to the next generation. CPSA is known for its excellent computer science curriculum as well as our award winning Robotics Team. We foster an environment of teamwork, encouragement, and growth as teachers are provided with assistance and support throughout the year. We have a friendly and collaborative environment at CPSA in which our teachers benefit from mentorship and guidance from other teachers as well as the Computer Science Department Head.

Applicants are required to have previous experience as a computer science teacher. Resources and support will be provided throughout the year. Professional development opportunities including training and guidance regarding teaching AP classes will be provided to new teachers.
