JOB SUMMARY:

East West is looking for an experienced, hands-on Accounting senior leader looking to build and own a core function within the accounting department focusing on all aspects of private company reporting and compliance. This position will lead projects focusing on establishing and streamlining financial reporting, implementing core systems managing both external and internal reporting and compliance, and assisting with technical accounting matters.

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Own and manage the internal and external financial reporting process, including preparation of consolidated financial statements, lender presentations, and other financial reporting and governmental statutory reporting, as required.
• Finalize implementation and manage financial consolidation and reporting software.
• Interface with external auditors regarding financial and technical reporting issues.
• Assist with preparation of annual budgets and quarterly financial forecasting requirements.
• Coordinate the preparation of the monthly and quarterly MD&A.
• Identify, resolve and review issues affecting the Company's reporting compliance.
• Assist with monitoring, assessing, communicating, and implementing changes in US GAAP and IFRS (and other foreign standards utilized) accounting and disclosure rules and regulations which may have an impact on the company's financials.
• Lead technical accounting research, prepare technical accounting memos, and communicate technical accounting conclusions to internal stakeholders and external auditors.
• Understand differences between international reporting standards and US reporting standards to determine US GAAP adjustments, if applicable.
• Disseminate and prepare Consolidated financial management reports including, but not limited to, internal and external monthly/quarterly/annual consolidated financial statements.
• Complete US GAAP disclosure checklists for annual audit, as applicable, to ensure compliance.
• Work with external auditors and prepare documentation to support audit requests, as requested.
• Manage ad-hoc audit and compliance-related projects, as requested.

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Education, Experience, Knowledge & Skills:

• 5+ years of relevant experience, preferably with experience working on financial consolidations
• CPA preferred
• Direct experience with the technical accounting relating to private company operations required.
• Experience with Planful software, preferred
• Strong communication and strong project management skills required.
• Top level critical thinking and analytical skills.
