The roles:
Are you a hands-on construction professional who enjoys seeing projects from start to finish? In addition to tradition water/wastewater projects, do you like working on cutting edge green initiatives such as purple pipe and rainwater harvesting? Aqua Texas is expanding our operations and as a result we have several newly created Construction Coordinator positions available to help support our key growth and environmental stewardship initiatives.

This is a terrific opportunity where you will have the chance to work hand in hand with our engineering team, operations leaders, and public officials on all aspects of numerous constructions projects. These projects can range from simple pump replacements up to multimillion dollar water/wastewater plant builds and everything in between!

These positions all will follow hybrid work schedules where time is split between remote, office and the field.

What you will do:
  • Collaborate with operations and engineering in the development, implementation and monitoring of annual capital improvement plans that identify and prioritize capital projects. Assists in developing annual capital budgets, including evaluating alternatives, designs, cost estimating and project scheduling.
  • Oversee construction activities to meet established budget, scope and timelines and ensure that company financial, compliance and operational objectives are met including site visits.
  • Coordinate construction phases of projects with staff in multiple departments, outside contractors, and suppliers. Ensure that operational needs are addressed.
  • Assist engineering with the preparation of permit applications, which cover a wide range of land development, zoning, construction, and environmental approvals, at the local and State levels, and at times the Federal level. Meet with public officials and regulatory agency personnel to assist in obtaining project permits and authorizations.
  • Meet with homeowners and follows through to promote and construct water main extensions and resolve customer concerns and complaints associated with construction activities.
  • Manages all aspects of construction project procurement and project construction, including reviewing and approving contractor applications for payment. Oversees construction inspectors for multiple concurrent projects.
What you will bring:
  • Demonstrable experience of delivering projects through creative problem solving and the effective use of capital.
  • 5 years of construction experience, including construction cost estimating, preparing bidding and contract documents, monitoring construction progress and payments, negotiating change orders, construction inspection and monitoring safety practices, and contract closeout.
  • Associate's degree in Mechanical, Civil, or Environmental Engineering preferred
  • Must have the ability to represent the Company in an accurate, positive, and professional manner to the general public, developers and Municipal Officers.
