Position Summary:
Consultant for Special Projects is responsible for defining, designing, and deploying business solutions and providing leadership and independent initiative in facilitating and conducting information gathering, structured documentation and presentation of findings. The Consultant will work with Business Partners throughout the organization to implement solutions in alignment with business strategy. This position will have a significant role in the administration or preparation of the departments or the organization's budget. May assist and act in a confidential capacity to help manage, formulate, determine and effectuate management process and polices. The incumbent may attend management meetings and may be involved directly or indirectly in the decision making process around confidential management decisions. Position requires exercise of independent judgment.

Duties & Responsibilities:
Conduct analysis of business processes and functional requirements and prepare appropriate documentation to communicate and validate the information. Track and measure key performance indicators (KPIs). Report facts to the JHS CEO and Executive Committee. Recommend a program update to the Executive Committee as warranted. Lead organizational change for program benefit definition and tracking. Facilitate program transparency and issue resolution. Facilitate communication for resource allocation. Track internal and external risks that impact strategic program progress ensuring that they are actively and dynamically managed. Ensure alignment of programs and projects to the JHS strategic plan. Introduce best-practice program management tools and methodologies. Establish consistent frameworks, definitions and templates that are used for program management throughout JHS. Coordinate cross-functional task forces to identify and document functional requirements, work flow, information sources and distribution paths, and system specifications. Evaluate existing application products which could address requirements and develop recommendations where appropriate. Develop comprehensive business cases with cost, service, benefit dimensions of proposed projects; to be used at executive levels for funding and scope decisions. Perform knowledge transfer to other staff and may review their work. Oversee administrative requirements ensuring completion in an accurate and timely manner (e.g., time reporting, status reporting, etc.). Role models behaviors of service excellence and CARE values (Compassion, Accountability, Respect and Expertise). Performs other related duties as assigned.




Qualifications


Experience:
Generally requires 5 to 7 years of related experience.

Education:
Bachelor's degree in related field is required

License Certification:
Active license or certification is required as needed, based on the job or specialty.

Knowledge Skill Abilities:
Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work accurately while meeting multiple deadlines. Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form. Ability to handle difficult and stressful situations with professional composure. Ability to understand and follow instructions. Ability to exercise sound and independent judgment. Knowledge and skill in use of job appropriate technology and software applications.

Physical Demands:
Job function is sedentary in nature and requires sitting for extended periods of time. Function may require frequent standing or walking. Must be able to lift or carry objects weighing up to 20 pounds. Jobs in this group are required to have close visual acuity to perform activities such as: extended use of computers, preparing and analyzing data and analytics, and other components of a typical office environment. Work Environment:
Jobs in this group are required to function in a fast paced environment with occasional high pressure or emergent and stressful situations. Frequent interaction with a diverse population including team members, providers, patients, insurance companies and other members of the public. Function is subject to inside environmental conditions, with occasional outdoor exposures. Possible exposure to various environments such as: communicable diseases, toxic substances, medicinal preparations and other conditions common to a hospital and medical office environment. May wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as gloves or a mask when exposed to hospital environment outside of office.
