Position: COVID-19 K-12 Sample Processor
Location: Seattle, WA
Duration: 2022-2023 School Year
Start Date: 10/20/2022
Description:
Will work as a specimen processor with a team deployed in WA schools for COVID testing programs. Person(s) will be in charge of entering processed samples into database, making sure samples are collected properly, labeled, and delivered to pick up spot. Reports sample collection in a manner to promote the efficient operation of the laboratory and effective testing program. Supports training new employees in procedures and policies when required and participates in team meetings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Organizing and sanitizing space in preparation for processing;
- Receiving and cataloging medical samples for testing, with attention to organizational systems and privacy and safety regulations;
- Performing testing if needed
- Preparing supplies for testing, if required;
- Quality Control on samples collected, being responsible for proper sample collections by students, faculty and administration staff;
- Registering collection tubes in an online portal and recording names of pool participants; and
- gathering insurance information if provided
- Reports to Program Testing Coordinator.
Qualifications
- Two-year associate degree or a certificate from an accredited community college or university;
- Prior work experience in public schools or healthcare systems a plus, but not required;
- Proven experience in health care or outpatient sample collections or similar role in preferred;
- Prior experience of working with young children in day care, healthcare settings a plus;
- Comfortable working in schools and public health;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; and
Background checks and drug screenings required for services in WA
Proof of COVID vaccines required
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 per hour
