The Eugene Water & Electric Board is seeking a skilled Senior Cyber Security Specialist with direct experience analyzing and developing information security governance, including organizational policies, procedures, standards, baselines, and guidelines with respect to information security and use and operation of information systems.
The Senior Cyber Security Specialist will:
- Have experience leading complex cybersecurity programs and initiatives.
- Provide cybersecurity architecture and design strategies to align cyber security with company strategies.
- Perform cyber security assessments and report on the effectiveness of EWEB's compliance programs.;
- Provide application, monitoring and analysis support for cyber security.
- Maintain health and stability of security related systems and devices.
- Define cyber security principles and requirements.
- Perform project compliance assessments with regards to security architecture, policies, and procedures.
- Recommend, implement, and administer security tools and technologies.
- Assists in or coordinate a variety of projects related to security, compliance, or auditing.
- Experience utilizing SIEM, SOAR, XDR, and Vulnerability Management systems.
- Lead Incident Response teams and perform investigations.
The ideal candidate will have experience in multiple areas of Information Security such as networking (TCP/IP, and various network protocols), operating systems (Windows, and Linux), and networking technologies (firewalls, switches, routers, and IDS/IPS). They will have knowledge of NIST CSF, NERC CIP, PCI, HIPAA, and SOC2. They will take initiative, be resourceful, detail-oriented, a self-starter, team-focused, and have strong interpersonal communication skills to communicate effectively with a diverse user group with varied levels of expertise in the use of security technology.
The starting annual salary for this position is $102,263.41 – 127,829.27 commensurate with knowledge, skills, education, and experience as it relates to the position.

MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Minimum Experience: Five years of progressive experience in cyber security or information security, compliance, or vulnerability management. Knowledge of technology and security topics including network security, application security, or database security.
Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science or related field.
Desirable experience and certifications: Security related training or certifications. Experience working with NERC CIP standards.
Equivalency: An equivalent combination of experience and training that demonstrates the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be qualifying.
