Position Description
JOB SUMMARY
American Cancer Society (ACS) is seeking a passionate data individual on the fight against cancer. This position sits within the Digital Solution’s Discovery Data Science team, where we work with a wide range of data types.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design and execute measures, KPIs and descriptive analytic analysis by leveraging business acumen and analytic acumen.
- Query, manipulate and validate data across multiple domains using database technologies and querying languages (SQL, Snowflake etc.)
- You will partner with stakeholders providing analytical insights to drive strategic projects forward and perform ad hoc analyses on critical business issues.
- Assist with PowerPoint presentations, reports consolidation and analysis reporting for our Extramural Discovery Science team.
Position Requirements
FORMAL KNOWLEDGE
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering, Informatics, or equivalent experience. At least three years of relevant work experience.

Required Qualifications
- Ability to extract and analyze large amounts of data using at least one data manipulation language required (SQL preferred.)
- Design and execute measures, KPIs and descriptive analytic analysis by leveraging business acumen and analytic acumen.
- Strong SQL and Excel skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills; a team player who works well with functional and technical resources; aptitude for taking strategic direction from executive management and see tasks through to completion without significant guidance.

SPECIALIZED TRAINING OR KNOWLEDGE
Proven experience in data engineering for a modern data pipeline.
The starting rate is $75,000 t0 $80,000. The final candidate's relevant experience/skills will be considered before an offer is extended.
