The Tools and Technology team operates at the intersection of business and IT. We oversee development of the Life & Health specific
technology-oriented initiatives and platforms


About the role:

You will take a key technical role in planning, designing and building of data management systems and data pipelines related to the platforms managed by the team and the wider Life & Health infrastructure. We expect you to work closely with team members to bring our data architecture to the next level and address ever-increasing challenges around data roadmap, volumes, complexity, privacy and regulatory requirements in the context of our hybrid on-promise and cloud implementation.

You will engage with various team members, stakeholders, data officer, vendors, business owners and IT teams to deliver robust and scalable data architecture and infrastructure. You will diagnose environmental issues and you will provide support in resolving them from concept to completion.

You will need to stay in touch with vendors, and open-source contributors and community to keep up with industry trends and new technologies

Main areas of responsibility are:

  • Translate business requirements into technical specifications and product requirements, understand its needs around data streams, integrations and databases.

  • Collaborate with different teams w.r.t. the product i.e. business teams, underwriters, IT and Analytics teams.

  • Define, develop and document the data architecture framework and best practices for data management, including reporting, protection,
    security, audit and maintenance.

  • Plan and implement and maintain scalable data pipelines and build and implement API integrations to support continuing increases in data
    volume and complexity.

  • Foster collaboration among team members, stakeholders, business and IT.

  • Collaborate with business teams to improve data models that are used by production tools.

  • You enjoy working across locations and time zones in a flexible fashion.

Experience and Skills:

  • You bring at least 2 years of working experience and demonstrated ability to plan, manage and see through long-term projects

  • Knowledge of SQL and Other Database Solutions and database design.

  • Knowledge and experience working with ETL processes.

  • Proficiency in object-oriented and object function scripting languages.

  • Experience in design and build data pipelines.

  • Practical knowledge of integrating data from applications APIs.

  • Experience with workflow management tools.

  • Strong communication skills, particularly those relevant to translating highly technical information for non-technical audiences.

  • Fluency in English.
