The role of the Patient Coordinator is to orient and educate patients and their families by meeting them; explaining the role of the patient care coordinator; initiating the care plan; providing educational information in conjunction with direct care providers related to treatments; procedures, medications and continuing care requirements. The Patient Coordinator must be organized, possess strong phone and communication skills, and must be proficient with a computer. The Patient Coordinator must always be patient, understanding and be a pleasant and welcoming presence in the office.

Job responsibilities will include (but not limited to):


  • Managing telephone calls, scheduling patient appointments; including gathering patient's insurance information and updating current info.
  • Confirming and documenting patient appointments to ensure the next day's schedule is filled for the doctor and hygienist.
  • Welcoming patients into the practice, by checking in patients utilizing dental software and ensuring proper paperwork given and filled out by patients.
  • Maintaining electronic records for patients (scanning and sorting documents) verifying insurance benefits, answering patients' questions.
  • Entering transactions and posting payments at time of patient check-out.
  • Verifying insurance coverage and eligibility and updating info in our system.
