Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Dimension Control Technician 4 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Saint Augustine.

Lays out, fabricates and assembles a variety of standard and nonstandard major jigs, fixtures, tool masters, master tooling gauges, and related tooling involving compound angels and complex contours where the establishment and coordination to exacting tolerances of numerous tooling holes and reference points between several planes are required. Plans work to be performed and determines methods and sequence of operations working from tool design drawings or own designs. Sets up and operates optical instruments to check overall and detailed alignment, fit, or adjustment of assemblies. Develops and designs holding devices and jig and fixture details. Prepares operational sequences and shop drawings covering parts fabrication and assembly to be performed by others. May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent and 6 years of tool building and/or laser tracker experience -OR- Associates degree and 2 years of tool building and/or laser tracker experience

  • Must have the ability to frequently move and position objects weighing 35 pounds.

  • Able to work inside and outside in a warehouse / shop floor environment

  • Must have 4 yrs. experience with laser tracker, FARO equipment and assembly tools in a manufacturing environment

  • Must have experience in devising reference systems and creating working build models

  • Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • 4/10 1st Shift Monday -Thursday from 6:00 am to 4:30 pm

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree with vast knowledge of laser tracking with assembly tools in an aircraft manufacturing environment

  • Minimum 5 years of Tool and Die or related experience With E2D & New generation technology, GD&T and advanced Metrology

  • Creating working build models with using Buildit Software

  • Extensive knowledge in software products in Buildit is highly desired

  • Able to operate and or be certified to operate a forklift and overhead crane (Northrop Grumman provided training)

  • Working knowledge of common hardware and tooling material

  • Must be able to use Microsoft Office and be proficient in keeping inventories

  • Active DOD Secret Clearance



Salary Range: $68,900 USD - $114,900 USD


Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
