The Director identifies, cultivates, solicits, and stewards a growing portfolio of government donors to meet regional and national goals.

The Director of Government Grants and Partnerships is a key position within the Development Division and, more specifically, the Institutional Partnerships team. In addition to the responsibility of maximizing the government fundraising opportunities for Jumpstart nationally, this position will work with our General Counsel and other closely-related teams across the organization to manage the application and reporting process for our AmeriCorps funding (national and state commissions across a highly matrixed, cross-functional team of resources). Strong communication skills are a must, both in external and internal communications. The ideal candidate is a self-starter, thrives in a growing organization, and is comfortable navigating across time zones and geographies to get their work done while exemplifying Jumpstart’s values of community, learning, social justice, joy, and inclusive leadership. The position reports to the National Director of Institutional Partnerships and works collaboratively with other members of the Institutional Partnerships team.

  • In partnership with the National Director of Institutional Partnerships, craft and implement a stewardship plan for government funders with the goal of ensuring they are informed on the impact and stay connected to the mission.

  • Maintain the electronic database (Salesforce) with all account activity, from prospecting through stewardship.
  • Effectively leverage the Content team and partner with Marketing, Communications and Brand in supporting creative thinking and strategies for marketing, print, digital and other materials to help cultivate and steward institutional funders.
  • Commit to continuing to refine the process for Jumpstart’s pursuit of government funding – regularly incorporating feedback from all Jumpstart staff.
