Executive Director (Full-Time, Non-Profit)
Job description
Purpose:
The Executive Director is the Chief Operating Officer of The Mt. Healthy Alliance and is responsible for overseeing the administration, programs and execution of the strategic plan of the organization in accordance with its Mission, Values, and Vision. Other key duties include organization of programs, community outreach, and fundraising, including grant writing. The position is accountable to the Board of Directors and reports directly to and maintains weekly communication with the President of the Board.
General Responsibilities:
Report to and work closely with the Board to seek their involvement in policy decisions, fund raising, and to increase the overall visibility of the organization
Attend regular with the Board and serves as ex officio on all committees
Communicate effectively with Member Churches
Oversee Current Alliance programs
Responsible for the hiring and retention of competent, qualified staff with input from the Board
Responsible for fiscal management that generally anticipates operating within the approved budget, ensures maximum resource utilization and maintenance of the organization in a positive financial position, meeting regularly with the finance committee
Responsible for identifying and applying for potential grants to support the Alliance programs
Prepare/oversee written and electronic materials (newsletter, brochures, website, social media forms etc.)
Represent the Alliance in the community, and secure visibility with other professional, civic and private organizations
Responsible for signing all notes, agreements, and other instruments made and entered into on behalf of the organization
Professional Qualifications:
A bachelor’s degree in social services or related field and adequate relevant
Transparent and high integrity leadership
Five or more years senior nonprofit management experience
Ability to effectively communicate with guests, volunteers, Board, staff and public
Ability to organize activities, keep records, work with minimal direction
Knowledge of fundraising strategies and donor relations unique to nonprofit sector
Demonstrated ability to oversee and collaborate with staff
Strong public speaking ability
Proficient in conflict resolution
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Evaluation:
Annual written review approved by the Alliance Board
Time:
Full-time position, 8 hour workdays, Monday to Friday. Schedule and location are flexible. There will be meetings and events that need to be attended, but working from home will be possible much of the time.
