Position Summary:

The Front of House Supervisor is under the general supervision of the Chef Manager. With the responsibility of leading and directing the service employees to the best advantage for good service and care of the residents.

Coordinates with Chef Manager on total overall department operation for the Bistro and Fountain Place dining room.

Job duties:

• Understands and operates cash register efficiently
• Adheres to all cash handling policies and procedures of the organization
• Takes care of problems and/or directs them to the Chef Manager as necessary.
• Ensure work is done correctly and all areas are clean and in order.
• Keep abreast of any changes in order to inform other employees.
• Adheres to all policies and procedures of the organization and all federal and state laws regarding the privacy of protected health information
• Coordinate with chef to ensure there is an adequate number of servers to cover a particular meal or banquet.
• Exemplifies, supervises, coaches, corrects, and is responsible for the team members’ compliance to the highest standards of customer service, personal appearance, uniforms and other policies and procedures daily.
• Supervises and participates in following the menu for correct food and beverage set-up, service via main dining room and clean up as scheduled for end of shift or as needed.
• Organizes and leads team for department cleaning during down times.
• Uses universal precautions in the ware wash area.
• Clean all equipment, fixtures, floors, and the walls in the assembly and service areas at the end of each shift and during the shift as needed. This includes sweeping the floors as needed and vacuuming baseboards and other fixtures. Perform all clean up duties as assigned by the Chef Manager.
• Make sure all dishes, silverware and serving equipment such as serving trays, utensils, bus pans, etc. are properly cleaned and sanitized at the end of each shift or as needed during the shift.
• Serves all residents, guests, and authorized diners, as assigned by the Chef Manager with accuracy, efficiency and courtesy.

Qualifications:

Previous experience in quantity food preparation/service is preferred. The ability to read, follow directions and document as needed is necessary.

Must be able to read small print such as on measuring containers and manometers. Must be able to discriminate subtle color differences as in skin tones and packaging materials
