Job Description
POSITION: General Service Foreman
LOCATION: Facility Services
TERM OF EMPLOYMENT: 12 months
QUALIFICATIONS: High school graduate and at least two years training beyond high
school. Prior experience managing and leading workers.
REPORTS TO: Custodial Coordinator
JOB GOAL: To provide quality materials and service to all schools in a timely
and efficient manner in order that they may maintain a superior
instructional program.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Knowledge of all aspects of General Services and Custodial Services.
- Oversees the general services department and personnel.
- Evaluates General Services personnel.
- Manages work orders.
- Manages budgets related to General Services needs.
- Coordinate the distribution and stocking of custodial supplies.
- Deliveries of all school system products, furniture, materials, and instructional supplies.
- Assist in uniform management.
- Assist in school inspections. (Sparkle and How You’re Living)
- Set up for major district and departmental events.
- Communicate effectively with district and school administration in deliveries, set-ups and pick ups of materials.
- Coordinate and unloading of trucks and deliveries.
- Assist in new construction set up.
- Coordinate and manage biohazard waste and sharps containers.
- Coordinates the collecting and disposing of surplus property.
- Serves as team player and role model for other employees in the organization; demonstrates a commitment to continuous quality improvement; supports and exhibits organization core values of caring, respect, integrity, responsibility, high expectations, being customer driven, and valuing diversity.
- Utilize technology tools such as Google Docs, electronic mail, spreadsheets.
- Participate in leadership meetings to guide the General Services team.
- Performs other duties and accepts responsibilities as assigned.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to perform the basic life operational functions of: walking, talking, hearing, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, standing, sitting, crouching, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, and repetitive motions.- Must be able to perform medium lifting exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
- Must possess the visual acuity to work with data and figures, operate a computer, and distinguish between colors.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:- Possession of a valid N.C. Drivers License required.
- Must maintain a good, safe, and responsible driving record at all times.
