Leads, plans, executes, and evaluates the functions of the Precertification Unit of the Clinical Affairs Department.

ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Creates, develops, and updates policies, operational guidelines, and clinical protocols to use in the unit.
  • Develops activities to comply with policies, operational guidelines, and clinical protocols.
  • Leads, supervises, trains, and evaluates the performance of the personnel assigned under their charge.
  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with the goals and objectives established for the Precertification Unit.
  • Collaborates with other departments to achieve goals and objectives set by the Company.
  • Develops work plan of the Precertification Unit annually in line with the department's objectives.
  • Responsible for coordinating meetings with staff to keep them updated on the progress of the work plan, achievements, and corresponding metrics.
  • Responsible for coordinating and/or providing a development plan for the unit's personnel.
  • Responsible for developing unit compliance statistics and metrics.
  • Maintains monthly statistics of the activities carried out in the department and ensures that the required reports for each business line are produced promptly, correctly, and completely.
  • Maintains effective interaction with both internal and external clients.
  • Knows and complies with the confidentiality policy and monitors to ensure compliance.
  • Participates in the budget planning for personnel, performance, supplies, and equipment. Appropriately justifies and distributes the allocated budget.
  • Supervises, monitors, trains, evaluates, and corrects, among other tasks required to fully fulfill their role as supervisor of the personnel assigned to their unit, ensuring that the performance of their personnel complies with the assigned work plan and the tasks inherent in their positions and that their conduct complies with the Company's policies, standards, rules, and procedures.
  • Complies fully and consistently with the Company's standards, policies, and procedures and the local and federal laws applicable to our industry, business, and employment practices.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education: Bachelor's degree in Nursing Sciences.

Experience: Five (5) years of experience in a health care environment and supervising staff.

Certifications/Licenses: Valid general nursing license, membership, and registration.

Others: Knowledge of clinical criteria, ICD-10, and CPT.

Languages:
Spanish - Advanced (writing, conversational, and comprehension)
English - Advanced (writing, conversational, and comprehension)
