Home Delivery Technician

Position Description
The Home Delivery Technician is responsible for delivery of, and education in the use of, home medical equipment to client/patients of the Company.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Reports any misconduct, suspicious or unethical activities to the Compliance Officer
• Represents the Company in a professional and courteous manner in all interactions with client/patients
• Schedules and delivers home medical equipment to client/patients’ homes
• Demonstrates and explains HME equipment in the client’s home and obtain appropriate documentation
• Picks up and cleans home medical equipment as needed
• Performs light maintenance on delivery van, and maintains mileage/vehicle check log
• Maintains equipment tracking and lot number tracking for oxygen and solutions
• Performs equipment maintenance per manufacturer’s guidelines
• Maintains HME delivery records
• Assists in resolving client equipment problems when appropriate
• Assumes on-call responsibilities in accordance with Company policy
• Reports equipment hazards and/or product incidents as required in accordance with Company policy
• Participates in surveys conducted by authorized inspection agencies
• Participates in the Company’s Performance Improvement program as requested by the Performance Improvement Coordinator
• Participates in Company committees when requested
• Pursues continuing education programs appropriate to job responsibilities
• Performs other duties as assigned by HME Technician Supervisor

REQUIRED Knowledge, Skills and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 0-2 years of home medical equipment experience
• Must maintain a valid driver’s license and good driving record
• Effective interpersonal, time management and organizational skills
• Strong communication skills in speaking and writing
• Organizational skills sufficient to maintain consistently accurate records

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Experience

• One year of home medical equipment experience

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and sit, as well as talk and hear
• The employee is required to use hands to operate vehicles and office equipment
• The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 114 pounds
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus
