Position Description

Job Title: Host Department: Food and Beverage

Reports to: Director of Facilities/FOH & Bar Pay Range: $18hr + benefits

Av Hrs/ Wk: 32 to 40hrs per week FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Entry Level: Y___N__X__

Summary of Functions: Host/Hostess will greet guest in positive friendly manner. Provide accurate wait times and escort guests to the dining or bar areas. Should have good organizational and people skills to ensure the best service experience for our guests.

Accountability: Report directly Food Manager and Front of the House Supervisor

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Smile
• Welcome guests to restaurant and bar, then seat accordingly
• Assigning guests to tables they prefer, while keeping table rotation in mind so that servers receive the right number of customers.
• Providing guests with menus and answering any initial questions, announce servers name that will assisting them
• Provide accurate wait times and monitor waiting lists
• Answering phone calls, taking reservations, takeout orders, answering questions.
• Assist Servers as needed
• Have knowledge of restaurant/Bar specials and of Casino Promotions
• Maintain clean reception area, also help to clean and prepare tables between guests
• Cater to guests who need extra attention (e.g. children, elderly)
• Bus tables if needed
• Engaging with guests to ensure they're happy with food and service.
• Responding to complaints and helping to resolve them.
• A knowledge of the menu.
• Helping out with other positions in the restaurant as needed.
• Thank guests upon departure and encourage return
• Providing great customer service

Supervisory Responsibilities: None

MinimumQualifications:

• Minimum age requirement of 18 years or older
• Must have a valid State License, Gaming License
• Must have a High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
• Prior experience in a fast paced environment preferred
• Must pass background check and UA testing prior to employment
• Have the ability to speak effectively to groups of employees, customers and the public
• Working knowledge of health, safety and sanitation procedures.
• Skill in identifying and resolving problems under pressure conditions, working in a fast paced environment.
• Work nights, weekends and holidays as required
• Ability to stay on task with little to no supervision

Physical Demands:

• Exposure to hazardous chemicals, hot and cold environment
• Have ability to bend at waist, back and knees with minimal or no limitations.
• Occasionally able to lift up to 50lbs over waist or shoulder heights.
• Preform actions with constant use of fingers, wrists and hands with minimal or no limitations.
• Able to stand or walk on feet for periods of time up to or exceeding 8hrs.
• Often requires walking or moving about to accomplish tasks.

Work Environment:

• Must be able to work in an environment that is occasionally exposed to hot, cold, wet and /or humid conditions, work environmental factors that include noise, music, electronic sounds and running equipment.
